Life's a ride
Just a ride
Ups and downs
And all around

When I am up
I am high in the sky
When I am down
I am through the ground

A diagnosis and treatment at last
For the illness I've had for a while
It's not just depression
It's not just schizophrenia

My new treatment is kicking in
Stabilized and realised
Mania a thing of the past
At last

But now sedation is a realisation
Feeling tired and needing sleep
Sluggishly I turn into a sheep
Hoping for a brighter future

Managing to stay free
From hospitals and prison
Paying my bills on time
And keeping this roof over our heads

I would trade my mania
And low days
For contentment and peacefulness
And a good nights sleep
