The Lovers

by Kylie (follow)

I had a lover
He was my handiman
In more ways than one
As it happened.

He came a number of times
He fixed things, got things primed
A typical alpha male
Knew how to make things sail

He fixed much of dirt
In my house, but couldn’t help to flirt
I thought I was imagining for weeks
But no – it was the real thing

So I called him on it, to make him take responsiblility
Said, ‘ are you up for it?’
He said he was, just because
But I did not want to cheat on his wife

We came to an agreement
There was to be no sentiment
This was purely a pleasure
No demands, no pressure

It was clear from the get go
But even so
I suppose emotions run deep
Maybe he couldn’t sleep.
He was cheating, I was not
I didn’t have any plot
I didn’t need his attentions
But, well, at the time they were welcome.

I didn’t see him for some time
He’d left his boat in the shed at mine
One day it was gone
The relationship apparently was dead
I still don't know
Incommunicado
I don't miss him.
She wont know, but I hope his wife will kiss him.
