If only
If only I could own a home
One which I could call my own
No more renting
Money down the drain
Nothing to my name
Losing all the rain
Living week to week
To pay off the landlords gain
Changing nothing inside
Here I sit and hide
A sanctuary I long for
A place to call my own
To live in peace and harmony
I long to own a home
I'm ready to settle down now
My party days are past
A family I want to start now
Not moving all at last
A room to call an office
A bedroom to lay my head
A kitchen to cook a meal in
A yard to entertain
Paint the walls
Lay a rug
Raise a child
Tucked in snug
The money is what its all about
For us out of reach
Without a doubt
If only we could raise some dough
And make a dream reality so
