Hogtied at Full Time

Hogtied at Full Time

cancer transported you there
between camellia and rhododendron
el nino blooms from unsettled dust
renders the warm eulogies
to so much breath gone out
of fading recalling meninges

gumboots dance in weeding
remaking a bed to lie in
one morning escapee sheep
knowing no boundaries wander
drop their bracelets to technology
grass has no memory

haunting bites from avocadoes
eaten in marie antoinette’s bedroom
the hofburg child cried at the end
lives are detritus savings littered
at the non scoring end against the wind
smile into the final siren
