Ballooning Yarra Valley

by James Walton (follow)
On my birthday
my lover gave me flight
softly lifted in the gentle exhale of a God
over the weir wall range
out of the closed wing of spinal base
a handmade throw sewn together as farms
laid out for our comfort
drifting between ecstasy and mortality
on the ground a centipede of many fingers
withdrawing its gifting filaments
unwrapped like a towel from her hair
all in a wicker that lands me
over electric lines.
