I think you will find
That school was all in your mind
A place we had to be
Time to set your mind free

Sitting in that chair
Thinking all is not fair
Often tired
Or brains wired

Playgrounds full of play
It was a place we had to stay
Loved ones far away
Crumble if you may

Face the front and learn
One day hope to earn
Enough to send your child
Somewhere out of the wild

But the learning does not end
When you get home past the bend
Learning goes on and on
Learn to think far beyond

Beyond the walls of restriction
And the teachings of such fiction
At the end of school
Starts knowledge

I can totally relate. I went to schools I could not afford and worked at the same time. My thinking was that I would be able to provide for my family better. I learned too late that working, period, would have been the best. My high school, the whole while, kept me in college prep, instead of the vocational school. So, in your opinion, who was wrong? Thank you for sharing your poems.
